Hydrogen:
The Champagne of the Energy Transition?
Can hydrogen be called the ‘champagne’ of the energy and mobility transformation? Or the ‘caviar’? Or perhaps the ‘Swiss army knife’? No matter what, in the past two years the political parameters for the market introduction of hydrogen technologies in Europe and in Germany have improved considerably. In particular, the production of green hydrogen is the focus of many initiatives – such as the European Green Deal and the National Hydrogen Strategy in Germany, but also the pace of efforts in Asia – especially in China and Japan – continues to increase.

Hydrogen for mobility solutions
This is particularly relevant for mobility technologies, a small niche in development departments just a few years ago. In the meantime, companies are not only investing in vehicle technology, but are entering the hydrogen market globally. The fact that hydrogen will provide a significant share of mobility in the future is now a clear fact for many. Instead of only half-hearted words and individual flagships, global players are focusing money and energy: MAN Energy Solutions, for example, recently took over the electrolyzer manufacturer H-Tec Systems completely and is now investing 500 million euros in its series production.
Hydrogen will make a successful energy and mobility transition a reality.
